Passage Talk nedir?

Konuşulan diyalog, yazılan metin, kamera ile metin okuma (OCR) ve belge çevirisi için gerçek zamanlı bir çeviri uygulaması. Apple'ın cihaz içi Speech, Translation ve Metin-Sesi çerçeveleri üzerine kurulu — hiçbir dış sunucu kullanılmıyor.

Hangi diller destekleniyor?

Türkçe, İngilizce, Almanca, Fransızca, İtalyanca, İspanyolca, Portekizce, Arapça, Çince, Japonca, Rusça ve Hintçe. Uygulama arayüzü şu an Türkçe ve İngilizce; kalan 10 dil ileriki güncellemelerde eklenecek.

'Kim konuşuyor' algılaması nasıl çalışıyor?

Moda göre değişir. Hands Free'de (tek telefon, iki kişi) uygulama iki konuşma tanıyıcıyı (biri kaynak, biri hedef dil) sıralı ve bellek güvenli bir mimariyle çalıştırır; hangisi anlamlı ve güvenli bir sonuç üretirse o dilde konuşulmuş sayılır, ve karışıklığı önlemek için AirPods bağlı olsa bile telefonun kendi mikrofonu kullanılır. Ses Tanıma testi nedir?

İnternet bağlantısı gerekli mi?

Çevrilen ses bazen neden çok alçak?

Hem Hands Free hem de Diyalog modunda çeviri, karşı tarafın duyabilmesi için telefonun hoparlöründen yüksek sesle çalar. Çok alçak geliyorsa konuşma ekranındaki ses seviyesi kaydırıcısını deneyin — o anda hangi yön konuşuyorsa ona uygulanır.

What is Passage Talk?

A real-time translation app for spoken conversation, typed text, camera OCR, and document translation. Built on Apple's on-device Speech, Translation, and Text-to-Speech frameworks — no external servers involved.

Which languages are supported?

Turkish, English, German, French, Italian, Spanish, Portuguese, Arabic, Chinese, Japanese, Russian, and Hindi. The app's own interface is currently in Turkish and English; the full set of interface languages will follow in later updates.

How does 'who's speaking' detection work?

It depends on the mode. In Hands Free (one phone, two people), the app runs two speech recognizers in a sequential, memory-safe pipeline (one for the source language, one for the target); whichever produces a meaningful, confident result is used, and the phone's built-in microphone is always used — even if AirPods are connected — to avoid confusion. In Dialogue (two separate phones), each phone only listens for its own user's language, so no such detection is needed; instead, each phone checks that the sound isn't synthetic playback from a nearby phone and, if you've completed the Voice Recognition test, that it matches your own recorded voice profile.

What is the Voice Recognition test?

Before using Dialogue mode for the first time, you're asked to read a short sentence in Settings → Voice Recognition & Headset Test. This creates a small on-device voice profile (pitch and rough spectral shape) so your phone can better tell your own voice apart from translated speech leaking in from a nearby phone's speaker. The recording never leaves your device and no raw audio is stored — only a small set of numbers describing your voice.

Do I need an internet connection?

For most language pairs, Apple's Translation and Speech frameworks work on-device after language packs are downloaded. iOS may fall back to server-side recognition for some languages the first time or on specific device models. For maximum privacy, connect to Wi-Fi to trigger the initial language pack download, then you can use Passage Talk offline.

Is my conversation private?

Yes. Audio is processed only in memory, discarded after each sentence, and never transmitted to DragonApps. Records you save stay in the app's local storage; nothing is uploaded. See the Privacy Policy for the full detail.

Can I record the audio too?

By default, Passage Talk keeps only the transcribed text and translation. If you want an audio recording as well, enable it explicitly (an in-app consent notice appears the first time). Recording is your responsibility — check local laws before recording another person.

Where do translated files go?

They're written to the app's Documents folder, which is visible in the iOS Files app under 'On My iPhone → Passage Talk'. Each file is also listed in the Records tab, tagged with your city and timestamp.

Why is the translated audio sometimes low?

In both Hands Free and Dialogue modes, translations play out loud through the phone's speaker so the other person can hear them. If you feel it's too quiet, try the volume slider on the conversation screen — it applies to whichever direction is currently speaking.

How do I redeem a gift code?

Tap Settings → Gift Code, or open the App Store, tap your profile picture, then 'Redeem Gift Card or Code'.

How do I switch to a new iPhone?

Passage Talk doesn't yet offer a built-in transfer tool. Records and your Voice Recognition profile stay only on this device, so on a new iPhone you'll need to save any Records you want to keep (via the share icon) before switching, and redo the Voice Recognition test once on the new device.
